Terms of Service

1. The Service

Vancouver Yachts provides private yacht charter experiences in Vancouver, BC, departing from 750 Pacific Blvd, Plaza of Nations Port Marina, Gate A. We operate two vessels:

• Summer Palace — up to 20 guests, from $800/hr
• Shangri-La Joy — up to 40 guests, from $750/hr

A minimum booking of 3 hours applies to all charters.

2. Inquiries & Bookings

Submitting an inquiry form on our website does not constitute a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed only after a verbal or written confirmation from a Vancouver Yachts representative and receipt of any required deposit or payment as agreed upon at that time.

3. Payment

Payment terms will be communicated by Wilson Gu (charter specialist) at the time of booking confirmation. Pricing is subject to change. The rates displayed on our website (from $750/hr and from $800/hr) reflect starting rates and may vary based on group size, duration, date, and any additional services requested.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellation policies will be outlined at the time of booking confirmation. In general:

• Cancellations made more than 7 days before the charter date may be eligible for a full or partial refund at our discretion
• Cancellations made within 7 days of the charter date may forfeit any deposit paid
• In the event that Vancouver Yachts must cancel a charter due to unsafe weather conditions, mechanical issues, or other circumstances beyond our control, we will offer a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost

5. Guest Conduct & Safety

All guests must comply with the instructions of the captain and crew at all times. Vancouver Yachts reserves the right to refuse boarding or terminate a charter early without refund in cases of:

• Intoxication to a degree deemed unsafe by the captain
• Aggressive, threatening, or disruptive behaviour
• Violation of any applicable maritime laws or regulations
• Exceeding the maximum guest capacity of the vessel

6. Alcohol Policy

Guests are permitted to bring their own alcohol aboard. However, the captain and crew reserve the right to restrict alcohol consumption if a guest's behaviour becomes a safety concern. Vancouver Yachts is not a licensed liquor service — guests are responsible for their own alcohol.

7. Liability

Guests board and participate in charter activities at their own risk. Vancouver Yachts (Shangri-La Marine Service Inc.) is not liable for:

• Personal injury or illness during the charter unless caused by proven negligence on our part
• Loss or damage to personal belongings brought aboard
• Delays or itinerary changes caused by weather, marine traffic, or circumstances beyond our control

All vessels are fully insured and operated by certified captains licensed under Transport Canada regulations.

8. Guest Capacity

Maximum guest capacity must not be exceeded at any time:

• Summer Palace: 20 guests maximum
• Shangri-La Joy: 40 guests maximum

This is a safety and regulatory requirement. Charters with guest counts exceeding the vessel maximum will not depart.

9. Weather & Conditions

Vancouver Yachts operates at the discretion of the captain with respect to weather and sea conditions. If conditions are deemed unsafe, the charter may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled. Guest safety is our first priority.

10. Photography & Media

By attending a Vancouver Yachts charter, guests consent to being photographed or filmed for potential use in marketing materials, social media, and promotional content. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform your captain or crew at the start of the charter.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Vancouver, British Columbia.
